Trading Course Trial and Refund Checklist
Use a trial to test the product's teaching workflow and commercial terms. Do not use a short trial to judge whether a strategy will make money.
Editorial score: buyer framework
Before starting
Capture the price, billing date, renewal policy, refund window and the exact features included. Check whether the trial requires a card, whether cancellation removes access immediately and whether live sessions are included. These details are part of the product, not paperwork to read later.
Choose a small learning goal for the trial: understand the syllabus, complete one module, inspect one exercise and decide whether the teaching style works for you.
During the window
Look for a coherent sequence, examples that include failure and clear definitions of risk. Test the platform on the device and schedule you would actually use. If a course advertises community or coaching, verify how a question is answered and whether the support is part of the purchased tier.
Do not take a trade to make the trial feel productive. Paper notes and replay are enough to test teaching quality.
Before the deadline
Write down what the course clarified, what remains vague and which promised features you used. Re-read the cancellation and refund instructions from the original terms. If you are cancelling, do it early enough to receive confirmation and retain the receipt.
If you continue, write the learning plan for the next month. A subscription without a study plan becomes passive content consumption and makes renewal harder to judge.
Keep a trial diary
Record the date you started, the features you used, the lesson completed, the question raised and the next action. Note every promised feature you could not find. This diary makes the decision concrete and gives you evidence if the checkout language and the delivered product do not match.
Do not judge a course by how motivated it makes you feel on day one. Judge whether you can explain the method, locate the risk boundary, repeat the exercise and find the support promised by the offer.
When continuing is sensible
Continue only when the programme has a defined next step, the cost is affordable without forcing trades, and the student can name what will be different after another month. Otherwise cancel within the stated window and keep the notes. A clean cancellation is not failure; it is the outcome the trial exists to enable.
