How Best Trading Courses Reviews Trading Courses and Strategy Breakdowns

This page documents Best Trading Courses' editorial methodology — the criteria we use to evaluate trading courses, signal services, and strategy breakdowns.

Course-and-service ranking rubric (five factors, 0-10 composite)

1. Methodology rigor (weight: 25%). Is the strategy genuinely teachable? Are the rules specific and falsifiable, or vague and aspirational? Does the methodology have an articulated edge source (technical / structural / behavioural / informational / computational)?

2. Verified performance (weight: 25%). Is the operator's track record audited via championship results, fund records, or regulatory filings? Or only self-reported via screenshots? A championship-verified operator scores 10; a fund-audited operator scores 8; a self-reported operator scores 4 maximum.

3. Value for money (weight: 20%). What does the course or service cost relative to comparable verified alternatives? A $5,000 course operating in territory where a $99/month service offers similar content scores poorly here.

4. Education quality (weight: 15%). Course depth (hours of content, breadth of topics), mentor accessibility (live sessions, Q&A, community), drop-out / completion rate transparency, post-course support.

5. Ethical conduct (weight: 15%). No fabricated track records, no fake testimonials, transparent disclosure of conflicts, refund policy, complaint history, regulator interactions.

Composite = weighted average across the five factors. Scores below 5.0 are not published in our recommendation list.

Strategy-breakdown methodology

Each strategy breakdown follows a standard structure:

Identity & record: Who is the trader, when did they trade, what's the verified record, primary-source links.

Markets & methodology: What instruments do they trade, what's the strategy methodology, what's the edge source.

Rules digest: The actual 5-15 specific rules that comprise the strategy. The 5% of the methodology that matters.

Strengths and weaknesses: What does this strategy do well and where does it fail. What regime does it suit (trending vs ranging, high-vol vs low-vol).

Verdict: Honest editorial assessment. Worth studying / worth replicating / educational value only / weak.

Sources used

Strategy breakdowns are sourced from: original interviews, published books and articles by the trader, public lecture and conference recordings, audited championship results (where available), fund records and regulatory filings (where available), and documented trade histories. Secondhand summaries are not used as primary sources.

What we do not do

We do not run an affiliate program. No course operator pays Best Trading Courses for inclusion or favourable coverage. We have no commercial arrangement requiring positive treatment of any reviewed party.

We do not republish paid course content. "Decoded course" pages are original editorial summaries of strategy methodologies, not redistribution of copyrighted materials. Strategy ideas are not copyrightable; specific text and code are. We do not reproduce specific text or code.

We do not rank courses by popularity or social-media following. A course with 1M YouTube subscribers can still rank below a course with 1k subscribers if its methodology rigor and verification quality are stronger.

Update cadence

Recommendation scores are reviewed quarterly. Material methodology changes are pre-announced in CHANGELOG.md and applied prospectively only.
