Original exercise for this learning question
Explain a fictional candle's open, high, low and close before naming a pattern. Compare a pattern label with its surrounding context and a non-example. Keep later outcome information outside the first annotation.
Work without a live account. Record the original reference, the observation boundary and the first answer before examining a later result. When a definition is unclear, mark the uncertainty; do not supply a favourable fact from hindsight or attribute your own invented parameter to the author.

Learning Concepts and Fresh Cases
A candlestick name should be introduced after the learner can describe the underlying sampled observations. Open, high, low and close refer to a declared interval; a pattern label applies a definition to those values and surrounding context.
Construct an invented candle and a lookalike. Explain the observed differences without using the next price move to define which was valid. Then place the same candle in two different surrounding sequences and identify whether the interpretation changes.
Keep hammer, doji, engulfing, star and other retained pattern names as vocabulary to resolve against a selected source. A pattern lesson does not by itself supply validity, sizing, calibrated probability or actual execution. The project should contain source definition, interval convention, non-example and uncertainty, not a guarantee inferred from a memorable visual label.
